This week Hannah spoke about Worry.

Worry is like a rocking chair… It goes backwards and forwards and gets you nowhere!

Matt 6: 25 – 27 says. “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?” Being sick with worry can bog you down. It will steal your joy! What are you modelling to your children?

Worry, Anxiety, Fear

When we worry it robs us of:

  • Opportunities (in work, in relationships)
  • Joy
  • Time
  • Love
  • Fun
  • Health

How to combat worry

  1. Rejoice, praise, be thankful. Change the pathways in your mind. Ps 46:10 says, Be still, and know that I am God… Stop and be still and know He is there.
  2. Lean into Gods peace. Phil 4:7 says And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. And 1 Peter 5:6-7 says, Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Fear not for God is with you.
  3. Share with someone. We were made for connection. Pray, trust God, join a connect group.

God wants us to TRUST Him.
