Loving through Proverbs – Pt2

Loving through Proverbs – Pt2

Lyndon spoke about Loving through Proverbs.

Proverbs 4:10-23 is about how to live your life.  It is broken into 2 parts:

  1. How to live through Righteousness and for God and
  2. A warning against wickedness and evil.

We are in a world of evil.  We come under a metron – a sphere of influence, that if we are not aware of  it we can wonder why its happening.  Proverbs tells us beware of the wicked man and we must listen to wisdom.

1 Peter 5:8 – Be sober, be vigilant because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Even Jesus was attacked by the devil after His baptism.   Jesus deals with the Devil, we don’t deal with him, we are dealing with the demonic realm.

2 Cor 2:11 – we are not unaware of his schemes.

Maybe we are ignorant of the enemies devices.  We need to be aware of what is happening, so we can move into a new season.

2 Cor 4:4 – Satan, the god of this world has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe.

The devil, and the demonic realm are not good at hiding.  If we are aware of it we can track it down.

In 1 Kings 19:2  Elijiah was attacked with intimidation and control from Jezebel after he had a major victory over the prophets of Baal.

After David defeated Goliath, King Saul was under a demonic influence to kill him, then he would snap out of it, come to his senses only to be influenced again later on.

A Low comes after a High.  After all the devil wants to keep us separated from God and one another.  We need to be aware of his scheme in both the physical and spiritual world.

We can become aware of spiritual atmospheres.

Not all is lost, the Son of God has all authority.

Prov 6:16 – There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among his brothers.

Luke 10:19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes an scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy: nothing can harm you.

James 4:7 – Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee.

These are keys to living a Christian life.

Eph 6:10-12 – Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.  Put on the full armour of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.  For our struggle I not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Luke 9:1 – When Jesus had called the twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases.

1 John 4:4 – …because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

We have been given all authority to defeat the devil and his schemes.

God doesn’t want us to struggle.  We will go through things, but do it with God.
