Ps Andre spoke about Generous Kingdom (part 2).
We are blessed to be a blessing, however don’t let your motivation to be blessed be the reason you bless others.
When you give out, God will give back. Generosity is extremely important in Gods eyes. It is linked to the closeness of our relationship to Him. Where your treasure is there your heart is.

God sees the relationship with Him and money, but so does the devil.
Beloved let us love one another for love is from God and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:7
For the love of money is a source of all kinds of evil. 1 Tim 6:10
Money isn’t bad but that love (the focus) of money is BAD.
The devil knows the love of money leads us down many paths that lead us away from God.
Tithing and Offering 101
Whether you believe in the New Testament tithing or not, we must be generous.
Tithe comes from teogapa – meaning tenth and is part of the mosaic covenant in Lev 27:30.
You may be thinking why tithe? Without that 1/10th you would not have the other 9/10ths.
Give to God the first fruit, out of your GROSS earnings.
Matt 23:23 says, “woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices… but have neglected the more important matters of the law – justice, mercy, and faithfulness. You should have practised the latter, without neglecting the former”. If Jesus didn’t want us to continue paying tithes He would have said so.
Tithing shouldn’t be a burden, but rather a joyful bouncing board of trusting, freedom and generosity.
Mal 3:10 talks of bringing into the storehouse – the storehouse is only in the temple – the church.
God doesn’t need your money – He is God. But the people of your church do for reaching, teaching and releasing.
Tithing isn’t the ceiling of giving, it’s the floor. Its not the finish line of giving, its just the starting block. Tithes can be the training wheels to launch us into the mindset, skills and habits of grace giving. Randy Alcorn
If Tithes ‘tones’ our Generosity muscle. Offerings build it even further.
God is our treasurer. Do you treasure the God who gives or the treasure God gave you? Where is your treasure? If your god is money it can lead you down a path.
Giving grows us!
Giving doesn’t bring restrictions, it brings FREEDOM.
Giving when it ‘costs’ leads to financial freedom.
- Financial generosity is important to God
- Tithe is trusting
- Giving doesn’t bring restrictions it brings freedom
- ‘Offerings’ is where we stretch!
