This week Ps Andre continued to speak about the DNA of Cornerstone – What are we made of?
Jesus was a revolutionary. He was not what they were expecting. He taught: love your enemy; kingdom of God on earth; loving the unlovable; touching those who you don’t want to touch. He had radical thinking about the Kingdom of God.
Revolution meaning ~ An overthrow of a social order, in favour of a new system.
Jesus flipped things on it’s side – both in the natural and the spiritual.
1 Thessalonians 5:14 says, And we urge you brothers & sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone.
We are called to be comfortable with the uncomfortable.
God is asking us to take a step of faith. Whatever that looks like for each of us. If we want to see a revolution in our community we need to start with the heart of the church. God does not want us to stay stagnant.
“A Christian who becomes a revolutionary will serve as a revolutionary catalyst in the church; and by the multiplication of revolutionized Christians, the church will become a revolutionary catalyst in society; and if society is sufficiently revolutionized, a revolution of violence will no more be needed than a windmill in a world of atomic energy.” – Vernon Grounds
When our hearts are revolutionized, our church is revolutionized, our community is revolutionized.
“Without a sense of caring, there can be no sense of community.” – Anthony J. D’Angelo
Love requires an expression. Will our community miss Cornerstone if we stopped? We need to let the revolutionary out, that being Jesus.
The Kingdom of God starts with tiny seeds. Read Mark 4:30-32.
There needs to be a hungering for God. It starts with prayer. It starts with a smile and compliment. It starts with meeting the needs. It starts with Faith, Hope & Love. Let’s be Quick to Love – Love Wins.
