Connecting to God

Connecting to God

Ps Andre spoke about Connecting to God.

The culture of Cornerstone is connecting.

  1. Connecting to God
  2. Connecting to others
  3. Connecting others to God.

Humanity is designed for connection.  When we disconnect to God things go wrong.

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. Rev 3:20 The one true living God wants connection with you.  There is something we have to do though, open our hearts and invite Jesus in.

We need to invite God in everyday so He can change our life every day.

God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.  Acts 17:27  God always wants connection.  So plug in to God, He has a really long extension cord.

We forget we have to connect to God.  And that makes us Powerless.

You are the light of the world.  A city on a hill cannot be hidden…In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.  Matt 5:14 & 16.  When you are plugged in it is obvious.

Don’t underestimate the power of your light in the darkness.

Stay connected to God, don’t just eat (meet) on Sunday, meet with God with at least 3 of the following per week:

  • Prayer
  • Reading scripture
  • Thought
  • Worship through art
  • Podcasts
  • Conversation
  • Meditation on Gods character
  • Worship
  • Theology
  • Connect Groups
  • Reading good books
  • Connecting with His creation
  • Journaling

Is your lamp small or broken?  God uses the bumps and scrapes from your life to shine out.  He wants you fixed, sure, but He will work through you where you are currently at.

Don’t yell at the darkness, step in and turn on your light and kill the darkness.

When we are no longer connected to God, we are no longer growing in God. If we are no longer growing, are we truly living for God? When we Grow in God, we Glow for God.
